Handling Japanese In A Work Context
Ever since encountering the Japanese Intercultural Consulting group on LinkedIn, I’ve found the information about being with and dealing with Japanese in a work context invaluable. As one can expect, the cultural differences between other cultures and the Japanese have to be handled with care and careful consideration in order to have a positive result. This is particularly true of American and Japanese relations; Americans are very much go-getters, expecting thing to happen in short order in an almost bullying fashion. That approach is so off-putting and does nothing to endear oneself to the more roundabout and even delicate sensibilities of the Japanese. Simply put, some figurative massaging is in order.
Either way, Rochelle is really quite amazing at putting this cultural know-how to work and giving businesses some candid enlightenment on how to navigate this cultural impasse.
