Whole Lotta Hullabaloo
Today is one of those days where I’m not feeling terribly social, you know? I think a few people called me up today to see if I wanted to do something. The day before yesterday it sounded like a good idea, but right now I don’t think so. I’ve got half a mind to go downtown and get a few drinks, but what’s the point of spending cash downtown when I could hold onto it for a little bit for something more worthwhile?
In other news, I rearranged my apartment to be a little more sectional. It was before, but now it’s clearly defined. I’ve got a workspace right behind the desk, my bed is in the corner and the sofa is sorta in the middle of the room facing the same wall with my windows. I’m up in the air about it, but I’m willing to try it out. The only thing I haven’t done is gotten the bookcase and a little dinette set (which I’m not sure I want).
One of the things I’ve decided is to take a seminar in January for becoming a Notary Signing Agent — those are folks that come along and notarize loan paperwork and so no at house closing. There’s some training that gets done and a certification examination to take. I think it will be worth it to milk this notary commission of mine to the hilt. Supposedly, per signing event, a notary can get up to $125 per signing. Now, if I did this all the time (and it doesn’t take a LOT of time even), I could make some seriously good side cash. We’ll see what happens, but I will be doing that.
I finished “A Game of Thrones” by George R.R. Martin yesterday and I have to say, I’m in love with this series so far. It’s incredible — the level of detail he puts into it, his depiction of family loyalties and the political games that occur… the random offing of people in the story, even! I’m looking forward to reading the next one… the ending was indeed a cliffhanger… it’s the “what’s going to happen next?” question that came out of my mouth. Pissed me off. Guess that’s a good thing.
Well, I’m signing off for now.
