Midweek Sweetness…

It was entirely a pleasure to get together with Herman yesterday! 😀 We went to see “Batman Begins” in IMAX — and let me tell you it was AWESOME. I not only enjoyed the movie, but enjoyed the big ass screen that it showed on! It takes some getting used to at first, but once your eyes have adjusted to the size, it’s simply incredible! (A review on the movie will follow sometime today.)

Then we went to this mexican restaurant that Val told me about, Rosa Mexicano. This restaurant was a mixed surprise. The ambience is incredibly romantic and they have a very notable centerpiece in the middle of the restaurant: a blue wetwall with a miniature diver jumping from top to bottom (2nd to 1st floor) in the different phases of the dive. It was unusual and original! I’d never seen anything quite like it. The ambience definitely gets at 10 from me. The waiters and other staff were so accomodating and pleasant. It made the whole experience pleasant. As for the food, it was VERY pricey, I won’t lie. But what we did get was excellent. Herman had some dish that was a beef thing and they said straight out, “We serve this medium rare… is this okay?” That was RARE!! A restaurant that states its standards before they even LET you order? NICE. :) I can respect that. I had a lovely fish with some great red salsa-ish sauce on it and potato flautas. It was lovely, the whole thing!! Well, I DID say it was mixed. We wanted to try the pomegranite margarita (at $10 a pop, it was pricey to begin with), but we both sipped it and wasn’t in love with it. I didn’t like it at all, so I had it sent back. The waiter, again accomodating, just gave me the face that said, “You don’t like it? That’s a shame…” and then proceeded to say, “That’s okay — what would you like instead?” No questions asked! It was awesome. How that got handled was great.

Without a doubt, I would go back there. It was awesome. We had a two thumbs up evening. Great movie, great food, great company. Everyday should be just like that. 😉
