Happy Fourth of July!!
I’m rather grateful that I don’t have any major plans for this 4th of July. Yesterday, I got to stay at home and customize my new laptop (which is working sorta okay — more on that in a different post). I feel a lot better about what I’m doing on Linux and I’m really convinced this was the best choice for me to go this route right now. It’s allowing me an avenue to learn more computer-wise without really having to apply it to any job or anything. AND it’s nice to know more about Linux than my tech guy at work who’s a Windows geek. 😛
It’s been rather uneventful, actually. On Friday, Herman and I went out to see Tal’s show “Pimp Me Now”, her one-woman review down in the village. Of course, there were a ton of PD folk there — seemingly I ran into everyone! It was alright, considering I had no clue about the subject matter, really. That takes a lot of guts to go up in front of a crowd like how she did. I have to give her her props.
Other than that, it’s been quiet. And I like it that way.
I’m having foot surgery done on the 15th and I’m going to be laid up for a few days recovering from the initial swelling. It’s kinda tricky because the doc told me that he didn’t want me lowering my foot for a few days, so I’m going to need some help with stuff. Still trying to work out the logistics of that, especially since my mom is going to be away starting that weekend. Herman offered to help, and I might just take him up on that. I don’t particularly relish being in my apartment by myself laid up in pain and can’t really move around. That’s gonna suck balls. I would do it, but if I don’t have to, why should I, right? My pre-op appointment is this Wednesday, so I’m going to ask him the remainder of my questions then.
I think I’m going to write today. I’m very much in the mood. Actually, I’m going to move the rest of my stuff over from my old Sony to this new laptop today. That way I’ll have everything I need on this thing.
